To add an adapter:

1. Click Start->Settings->Control Panel and open Network

2. Select the Adapters tab. If an adapter does not already exist then click Add.

3. Select the installed adapter from the list, or click Have Disk and use the manufacturer supplied media. You can choose MS Loopback Adapter if a hardware adapter does not exist.

To add a protocol:

4. Click Start->Settings->Control Panel and open Network

5. Select the Protocols tab. If TCP/IP is already installed then skip to step 8.

6. Click the Add button and select the TCP/IP Protocol and click OK

7. Select the appropriate DHCP setting for your network.

8. Click the Add button and select the Point to Point Tunneling Protocol and Click OK.

9. Add at least one Virtual Private Network.

10. A message popup will appear, click OK.

11. Select a RAS capable device and click OK.

12. Click the Configure button and choose dial out only. Click OK.

13. Click the Network button. Choose TCP/IP, Click Continue.

14. Click Close and then click OK to restart your computer.

15. After your computer restarts it is important that you re-apply the current NT service pack.
